Letter From The CEO

Greetings and Welcome to Community Vocational Enterprises, Inc!

Lorna_blue_top_UPDATE.jpg Since 1986, CVE, Inc has provided a wide range of workforce development services to individuals who have mental illnesses. Once consumers acquire the necessary treatment and are taught the essential self-care management skills to regain control over their lives, the desire to work becomes a critical next step in their recovery process.

It was out of the vision of CVE’s founder, John Brauer, that the concept of social enterprise became a viable option for providing services to this underserved yet capable population. CVE operates three businesses which provide transitional work opportunities for individuals who have been out of the working world for extended periods of time due to the severity of their illnesses.

Skills, Wellness, Recovery and Sustainability are cornerstones to CVE empowering these individuals to return to work and reclaim their sense of self. Individuals come to CVE because they want to work. It is the combination of consumer enthusiasm, our methodology, and our tremendous training opportunities that enables CVE to fulfill its mission. We help individuals challenged by mental health issues to become viable tax paying citizens while sustaining the highest possible quality of life for themselves and their families. Our outcomes analysis clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of our programming.

Our goal is to continue to enhance the skills of our consumers by expanding training opportunities through new business development, networking, collaborating, and partnering with businesses and organizations that specialize in a variety of industries.

We are truly fortunate to have the support of our diverse Board of Directors and Staff to guide CVE towards becoming a state-of-the-art, model social enterprise in the business of making substantial contributions to this economy’s workforce. Thank you for stopping by!

Sincerely,

Lorna D. Jones, M.Ed/MBA
