Volunteer Internship Program

VIP internships are designed to serve as a bridge to paid employment for CVE clients. This program offers structured, entry-level skill building opportunities through collaboration with local non-profit agencies and our community partner the The Volunteer Center. Internships are performed on a volunteer basis in exchange for practical work experience and marketable skills.

Typically, volunteer internships last for up to 90 days. Participation happens at many points during a clients’ journey with CVE. Internships happen when someone is new to CVE and unsure of which career to pursue, during transition periods, and when someone is in a job search but would like to maintain a schedule.

The Volunteer Center
CVE collaborates with its community partner The Volunteer Center and their program designed specifically for people with disabilities, the Transitional Volunteer Program (TVP). The Volunteer Center, a pioneer in the field of volunteerism, plays a critical role in fostering a strong network among nonprofit, public, and business sector organizations and ordinary citizens, united by the overarching goal of improving local communities.

Community Access Ticket Service (CATS)
CVE collaborates with CATS, a non-profit organization serving as a bridge between the social service community and the hundreds of exciting cultural entities in the Bay Area. CVE clients receive tickets through CVE and attend events throughout San Francisco with a CVE representative. Tickets are at no cost to CVE clients.
